Department of Motor Vehicles

All new residents must transfer their drivers license to the State of Virginia within 30 days of establishing residency. A road and written test will be waived if a valid out of state license exists.

All new residents must also register their automobiles within 30 days of establishing residency in the state.

Voting Information

To vote in Virginia, you must be a citizen of the United sates, 18 years old and a resident of the state and your precinct for 30 days before the

election.

Pets

All dogs over the age of six months must be licensed in the city or county of residence. In addition, all dogs and cats over six months old must have verification of rabies shots. The rabies

certificate must be presented when purchasing the license and tags.
